Girl Spy. (Original writing)
Girl Spy is a collection of poems related to education through observation. What the narrator sees is as important, if not more so, than what that narrator does. Many of the pieces are in first person and refer to each other through details about the persona which recur. For instance, the fact that the first-person persona's father is a doctor appears in two poems which seem unrelated in many other ways. However, the link that this common detail provides is between the child who misunderstands how her body works and the woman who speaks of trying to break a physical addiction to drugs, a more concrete misunderstanding of how the healthy body works. Pieces that have a third-person narration relate thematically to these other poems and often provide another perspective on observation by being actual observations of the observer.
