Foreign Trade Relations of Lithuania

The reconstruction of the old Duchy of Lithuania into a modern independent and sovereign Republic has brought about a whole chain of rapid changes and possibilities in the foreign trade relations of Lithuania, Some of these changes have taken place already, many of them are still expected to take place. The settlement of the ViIna controversy, the solution of the Memel question and the completion of the numerous commercial, political and other treaties will undoubtedly have a most profound bearing upon these changes in Lithuania's foreign trade relations.It was thought better to accentuate here the collection of material useful to a study and understanding of the possibilities of the foreign trade relations of Lithuania rather than to give in detail the various existing channels of such relations which may prove of temporary character and may undergo material changes within a comparatively brief time owing to the rapid development of political relations.
