Editorial Trends in Selected General Circulating Magazines, 1946-1955

In the general circulation magazines, changes are usually gradual, so as not to break contact with millions of subscribers, Yet, changes do occur. Over a period of a decade, they are striking. The purpose of this study is to examine trends since World War II in (1) style, (2) presentation, and (3) subject matter of selected general circulation magazines and to examine the reasons for those trends.
