The women's clothing industry is composed of a multitude of small firms producing a multiplicity of styles to meet every price line, style range, and fashion demand. It is an exceedingly easy business to enter, capital requirements being astonishingly small. The manufacturer can either equip his own plant with cutting, sewing, pressing, and finishing machinery, or just perform the styling and selling functions and depend on a contractor to produce the garments.
