Dividing the Dark is a collection of poems in which the exterior and interior world, the cosmic and the cellular, are understood through the human body's vulnerabilities and strengths. The stellar and the terrestrial become sites for familial relationships to be both ruptured and, in a way, mended; the overarching notions of marriage and divorce enact and problematize the physical body's desire to be whole and sane. Dividing the Dark explores the perspective of the body on earth and in outer space. Here, our bodies are not ours; they belong to the earth and the slowly collapsing stars
