Cooperation Between Central Banks and the Gold Standard

One of the characteristic developments of central banking since the World War has been the movement for international cooperation. Related to similar international political tendencies prevailing during the same period, it was the medium of securing international assistance in reconstructing the shattered monetary and financial systems of the world. The stabilization of European currencies was made possible through the coordinated efforts of various Central Banks.
