Consciousness, transformation, and love in the post-modern world
This thesis is a constructive attempt to compare, in the fields of Philosophy and Theology, in a poetic mode, aspects of consciousness, as well as ways of personal transformation and understanding of compassion in the modern world. The message of world religions is twofold: to know oneself, and to love. The message of world philosophers is also twofold: to know oneself and to understand the Universe. It is only through a change of consciousness that the world could be transformed. It is only through each individual change that consciousness will be known. If we agree to work on ourselves individually with deep reverence for life, and without clinging to ideologies, we may be able to achieve a world transformation at a very deep level. By studying the nature of consciousness, body, and spirit, we could acquire the form of intelligence which will change our attitude toward nature, science, and our place in the world. Our understanding of another dimension of intelligence would be inclusive of all doctrines and ideologies. The new world view carried out through a Philosophy of Love means that we accept collectively the responsibility to create and explore new dimensions of Being.
