Clown Street is a feature length comic screenplay (104 minutes) concerning issues of the Presidency of the United States. As the story unfolds, idealistic President Lewis J. Allen, overwhelmed by sagging effectiveness and popularity ratings, unsuccessful policy objectives and a general feeling of uselessness, sneaks incognito out of the White House and joins a small troupe of homeless circus clowns who have set up camp in Lafayette Park. The situation intensifies when the First Lady discovers his absence and with the help of key Presidential staff members instigates a cover-up until his return. Unfortunately, the cover-up fails when the extremely popular clowns are arrested and taken into a Washington, D.C. Night Court to be tried on a variety of misdemeanor charges. It is during this televised courtroom proceeding that the President's true identity is revealed and his successful campaign for re-election initiated.
