Chemical Character and Alteration in Ground Waters of the Northern Great Plains Area

Isolated investigations of ground water in parts of Montana and the Dakotas have been made with reference to the quality of the waters for domestic and industrial supplies and for irrigation. A comprehensive study of the waters from the Northern Great Plains area as a whole shows that the alterations in chemical character have been determined by the physical conditions and geologic history of the rock materials and by their chemical and mineral composition.
