Box o' Hammers
Box o' Hammers is an original collection of one nocturne and five short stories that celebrate image through prose, attempt to convey a stark and expressionistic reality to the reader, and usually culminate with violence, upheaval and, often, death. As the title suggests, the stories deal with a one-sided world where trauma and death are inevitable---a fact that often precludes any proper moral dilemma, although morality is never absent from these stories. Furthermore, image is often used as a blunt weapon. Finally, the stories in this collection suggest and invoke craft as meta-fiction often does, evidenced by the common use of a frame story or story within a story as well as certain affectations of the narrator, while simultaneously foregrounding craft.
