Beside the sickle moon
Beside the Sickle Moon is an original work of speculative fiction based on the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict. Set in the near future as a commentary for what has occurred in the past and present, Beside the Sickle Moon is a character driven noir centering around an ambivalent protagonist caught in a tug-of-war between the cultural duty to one’s people and personal duty to one’s self. Highlighting the impossible odds Palestinians face to educate an American audience, Beside the Sickle Moon is a neon lit David versus Goliath that attempts to shed light on the injustice of the Palestinian condition, simultaneously criticizing in-fighting methods and self-sabotaging nostalgia while honoring a place that deserves to be seen as more than just a wound.
