During a string of vicious attacks on religious sites around the world, the True Cross of Christ is stolen, and the Holy See has come to Dr. Noah Rosado for help. Noah is a renowned demonologist and a former Marine. Ten years ago, he was medically discharged after a raid on an insurgent stronghold met an unknown, and unbelievable enemy. He was nearly killed and what he remembers from the engagement defies explanation. The medical community has told him that the images in his mind are created by the brain as a way of defending itself from an extraordinarily traumatic situation. After years of reconciling with this, the Vatican is now asking Noah to help their direct-action team – the Knights of the Covenant – confront the very evil forces that he was told were just figments of his mind dealing with trauma. Noah and the Knights of the Covenant will come to find that these attacks are part of plan beyond anything that Noah’s mind could have concocted and whose final goal is to see a prophecy fulfilled and all of creation potentially undone.
