An analysis of policies and programs for the unification of Korea as proposed at the Geneva Conference of 1954

It was the purpose of this study (1) to investigate the developments of the alleged unification programs advanced by directly interested parties (North and South Korea) and by the major powers, namely, United States and the Soviet Union; (2) to compare the policies and programs, analyzing them within a chronological framework, of the powers for the unification of Korea and their respective impact in Korea; (3) to evaluate the policies and programs advanced by the parties involved in an attempt to reveal the virtues and faults of each; and (4) to endeavour to conceive prospects for success of Korean unification.
