An Investigation of Modified Probability Sampling Procedures in Interview Surveys

Researchers are continually faced with the choice of alternative procedures in the application of survey methods. Even with the great strides of the past decade in the development of survey techniques, many decisions have to be made on the basis of intuition and opinion. In probability sample design, particularly, theory has been well developed but difficulties arise in translating a precise mathematical model into field procedures which, simultaneously, are economically feasible and can be rigorously executed.
