The development of air transportation has not reached full maturity and, therefore, the planning of airports and the selection of airport sites will be a continuing problem for some time to come. Large transportation centers will require additional airports to supplement existing facilities as air traffic increases. Areas, which are not now served by air, can be expected to generate a demand for such service in the future through economic and cultural growth.
