An Approach to the Examination of the Superficial Cutaneous Areas with a Thermoelectric Aesthesiometer

It is not to be supposed that this writing is the final word in the thermal cutaneous sensitivity experiments which were begun in a very scientific way about three-quarters of a century ago. In order that a clear conception of tie apparatus which is offered herein, the description, use and construction of which shall comprise a substantial part of this writing, it seems fitting to trace briefly the historical development and contributions of the major experiments and the devices used in each experiment.
