The problem is to evaluate the usefulness of partial equilibrium theory in the analysis of current problems in the field of marketing research.Within the past two decades there has been an acceleration of the activity in marketing research due to the increased participation of business firms, private research organizations, government, and individuals. As part of the general activity in this special field a number of books have been written to give direction to certain phases of marketing research activity - especially in the development of techniques designed to afford a more objective and systematic approach to the analysis of marketing problems facing the entrepreneur or the business firm.
