Not long after the Bandug Conference, references to the Asian-African and Arab-Asian blocs began to appear in great profusion in the newspapers and other publications. Dire things were predicted for the Western world if the strength of this bloc should grow and a great amount of print was devoted to the means by which the West could break up the bloc.Firm in the belief that our future lies in the hands of Asia and Africa and, therefore, that the West, and particularly the United States, must discard its prejudices and its smug superiority and strive to win their friendship as equals and partners in progress, I have read with interest the reaction of the press to the growing prominence of those regions.
