This study discovers if the criteria for choice of a computer system used by Property Management firms affects the success these firms have with the computer system chosen. The primary technique used in the study was descriptive survey. A questionnaire was mailed to five hundred and twenty-six Certified Property Managers. The two main areas addressed include: (1) Are Property Managers satisfied with their computer systems? and (2) Did the criteria influence satisfaction? In summary, property managers are satisfied with their hardware and software. Three variables were found to influence satisfaction: (1) the role of management in the purchase process, (2) the amount of time spent on the decision process, and (3) the place of purchase.
