The endeavors of professional organizations to improve secondary education have often met with opposition by some segments of the public. At the present times such opposition has achieved notable proportions. Nevertheless the work of such organizations has been of immeasurable value to the secondary school, and there is nothing in the present which indicates that such contributions will not be as great or greater in the future. This study attempts, therefore, to indicate to what extent the professional groups included herein have been able through the years to exert influence upon the secondary school curriculum.
