A study of camp leadership courses offered by seventy colleges and universities in the United States
Within the past decade, organized courses of study or curricula for camp leaders have appeared in American colleges and universities leading to credit for a degree. The objectives of this study are to survey and to analyze professional training for camp counselors as given in seventy selected colleges and universities in the United States. Because there seems to be only meager available data regarding camp leadership, and because there is a growing interest and demand for information on these courses, it is hoped that this first formal presentation of the courses in camp leadership will be of aid to the different universities and colleges and will be helpful in setting up standards of instruction in this comparatively new type of education.
