Complete Concordances have heretofore been made of all the Major English Poets except Byron. That the proper interpretation of English Poetry may be secured, an assemblage of the Proper Names in Byron's Poetry, so rich in allusions to Historical and Geographical Names, is highly needed. Many of the proper Names represent the recovery of Oriental customs and literatures which were then unknown to the English speaking people. Some names, which may not be considered as Proper Names, have been included because of their interest in connection with Spanish, Italian, Turkish, Grecian and Persian names. It is planned to later assemble all such names in a separate concordance as an Appendix.
