It may prove fruitful to attempt a comparative investigation of the economics of Karl Marx and John Maynard Keynes. These two economists, living virtually a century apart, and both highly controversial economists, having fathered schools of thought wherein the exegetics of their followers and the criticisms of their opponents have fanned the flames of disputation. Both have been attacked by "orthodox" economists; yet the doctrines of both are prominent in the realm of today's politics and economics.
