While universities and publishers have centuries of experience with the packaging and dissemination of traditional scholarly outputs, including increasingly in digital formats in the last two decades, the era of doing the same with the data gathered in the course of research is only beginning, driven in part by the requirements of funding agencies. This presentation offers some perspectives on the related opportunities and challenges.
