The Forum for Climate Engineering Assessment (FCEA) is housed within the School of International Service at American University in Washington, D.C. FCEA was established in 2013 to assess the social, ethical, political, and legal implications of climate engineering technologies (also referred to as “geoengineering” or “climate intervention” technologies). In doing so, our mission is to ensure that the climate engineering conversation maintains a focus on issues of justice, equity, and inclusion. We work to fulfill our mission by creating, catalyzing, and disseminating policyrelevant research and commentary and by acting as a convener and honest broker bridging between academic and policy conversations.
