<p dir="ltr">Ethiopia’s Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam is transforming the balance of power in Northeastern Africa. By securing energy independence and regional influence, Ethiopia challenges Egypt’s long-standing dominance of the Nile. Egypt fears water scarcity and loss of agricultural land but has failed to halt the project through threats or international appeals, exposing its weakened position. The dispute symbolizes a broader struggle over identity and leadership in Africa, with Ethiopia rising as Egypt declines. To remain relevant, Egypt must adapt to shifting regional dynamics and redefine its role.</p>
