<p dir="ltr">The U.S. suspension of its Refugee Admissions Program forced asylum seekers into unsafe camps in Panama, violating both domestic and international law. By outsourcing responsibility to “bridge” countries, the policy endangered vulnerable people and weakened global refugee protections. Restoring USRAP with fair vetting, funding support services, and building UN-backed processing centers are essential steps to repair harm and rebuild U.S. credibility as a human rights leader.</p>
